How quickly things change and how long it takes us to change processes and ways of doing things to adapt to those changes! From Healthy Work we want to suggest that the division between private life and work life has ceased to be what it was before. The importance between separating the two remains the same, but the idea that it is the schedules that mark that separation no longer works. Nowadays, with so many people working from home, remotely, with so many freelancers and start-ups it is easy for us to have to answer an email at night or on weekends from our home, but also that we can make the purchase on a Tuesday at noon. Resisting these changes can create stress and make the difficulty of separating the two worlds - work and personal - more difficult. Only from an acceptance that things can be like this can we manage time well and preserve the time we dedicate to ourselves and to those we love. It is true that it is uncomfortable to work on a Saturday, or late on a Wednesday, but it is also true that it is a pleasure to be able to cut our hair during work hours or to be able to stay at home when we have a sick child. Only by accepting that work performance is now different can we reduce in our heads the stress generated by the rigidity of thoughts about time management. Another thing is that we have to account for that time to the company and how to do it. Many things remain to be defined.
